In September 2007, nine Live Oak trees were relocated out of the path of construction to ensure careful preservation of the 50,000–150,000 pound arbors. The largest of the trees are nearly a century old, providing a beautiful canopy of shade during the hot Texas heat.
The trees were relocated by Texas-based Environmental Design Inc., who moved the Live Oaks in meticulously planned stages over the course of several weeks. All nine of the relocated native trees are thriving in their new homes, ensuring many more years of beauty and shade for the residents, workers and visitors of The Domain.
